“It is finished” Power

Watering:

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. (Ephesians 1:18-21)

Watching:

This early Monday morning paraphrase,

I pray that you would become aware beyond the limits of what you see, so you can have hope. Because Hope himself is calling you. And I pray that you might- not just understand but know – KNOW – what an amazing inheritance we’ve been given. This inheritance isn’t a bunch of stuff to be sorted through and sold at an estate sale; this is an inheritance left IN us … just because we believe!

Incredible. Incomprehensible. Impossible to wrap our brains around… HIS power in us!

The very same power that exploded past the rock the enemy hoped would hold him back.

The very same power that brought Creation Life back to every earthly cell that had been slashed, beaten, crucified – silenced.

The very same “walk-through-walls, blast-to-heaven, stomp-on-the-enemy’s-head-once-for-all” power…

The power of a loving God, signed in blood, sealed by His Spirit, and delivered with “It is finished” authority in the nail-scarred hands of Jesus

our living Hope,

… our forever inheritance.

Wondering:

So I wonder this early Monday morning… What would today look like.. if I let this obedient-driven, Jesus-power reign in me?

Waiting:

Father, remind me throughout this day, that Your power is not limited or glorified in only the big things. And though, yes, You love the “mission impossible’s,”  You also show yourself mighty in the small things: the widow’s two cents, the sparrow, the few fish and loaves, the cup of water to a stranger… Bottom line, You are powerful in all things. So, let my little life and this little day be powerful in – and for – You alone.

Watering today: Prov 9; Ps 9, 109; Ecclesiastes 9; Ephesians 1-2
