Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.
So here’s the full meal deal, the whole big enchilada of truth and nothing but the truth: Jesus came to rescue us from our maggot-infested selves – of which I am the worst.
Ouch, that seems a little harsh…but that’s exactly the point! It’s not about me, it’s not about us, it’s all about our hero, our rescuer, our knight in blood-stained armor… It’s Jesus who is the important One. His patience, his goodness. His mercy. His kindness. His amazing love unashamedly displayed in this lowly life called “me,” that He deems worth saving:
I am blind… but through Him I see.
I am directionally challenged … But in Him I find the Way.
I am forever falling and failing… But by His love I am forgiven and set free to be the “me” he created me to be.
Every day in every way I am loved so I can love too – everyday in every way.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
Hi. My name is Jane and I’m a sinner. Saved by grace.
… And grace changes everything.
Jesus, you’ve walked with me my whole life – the times I sensed you quietly near me, and all the years that I didn’t. You never gave up on me. You love me with an everlasting love, and I am in love with you. Help me to live for you every day in every way.
